We've literally been waiting all year to bring back #MaxMondaysInMay! Some would say we should just post a picture of K-9 Max EVERY day - and we're here for that conversation - but at the least, we like to highlight Max every Monday in May.

Here's a few quick Max Facts (#MaxFacts):

🐾 3: Max just celebrated his third birthday a couple of weeks ago. Happy birthday! Originally from Poland, Max partnered up with Deputy Skyler Hinton here at the sheriff's office when Max was a big pupper. Did they become best friends? Yup!

🐾 120: Max and Skyler have worked together for about a year and a half. They've done about 120 deployments in that time. Those include narcotics sniffs, school narcotic sniffs, tracking, patrol and community demonstrations.

🐾 2 dozen: Max has aided in nearly two dozen arrests. Not only does he help with our deputies, but he also aids other agencies within our county. He's also helped out McPherson County, too.

Max is a tremendous coworker and a welcome stress reliever when he visits the office. And hopefully during #maxmondaysinmay, he'll help cure a case of the Mondays for a few of you. You can also follow his everyday adventures at K-9 Max.We've literally been waiting all year to bring back #MaxMondaysInMay! As the day has progressed it looks like the confidence has now risen and moved Harvey County into a higher risk bracket. These storms are expected to arrive into our area around 4pm. This storm can bring up to softball size hail, 80mph winds, and even a tornado or two. Please make sure you are staying weather aware and preparing for you and your loved ones to shelter, if needed in a safe place.

One form of communication we recommend for our citizen's is the "Everbridge" program. you can find out more information on this at our website:

www.harveycounty.com/departments/emergency-management/everbridge.html.

Multiple ways to receive notifications is always our recommendation so look for apps via your cellphone that connects to your local weather agency. Social media, NOAA weather radio, and if all else fails have an agreement with a relative or friend outside the area who you can check in with to stay updated.Photos from Harvey County Emergency Management's post

It's easy to get complacent due to the number of severe weather updates over the past couple of weeks, but today has the ingredients that may lead to the most threatening yet for our area. Significant hail, powerful wind gusts and tornadoes may be possible. Storms in our area are forecasted to develop between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m.

Please stay aware of the weather conditions throughout the day.
