June 7, 2024 | 10:55 PM CDT: Strong outflow winds up to 60 mph have been reported south of a complex of severe storms. While little to no rain is expected, these strong winds can still blow around lightweight objects and knock down tree branches. Seek shelter in a building for the next few minutes.

The booklets make fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs more accessible for Harvey County residents 60 and older that meet income requirements. Caregivers can also apply for a booklet by proxy for those they care for through the Department on Aging (316-284-6880).
Booklets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Newton Recreation Commission on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If there are remaining booklets after this, please contact the Department on Aging to request one.
