As we approach the end of the week and continue to finalize the
"Make a Plan" component of the 12 Steps of Preparedness, We encourage you to customize your plans and supplies according to your individual daily living needs and responsibilities.

Please take the time to discuss your unique requirements and responsibilities, and consider how members of your inner circle can support one another through effective communication, childcare, business needs, pet care, or specific requirements such as operating medical equipment.

It is important to create a personal network that addresses the areas where you may need assistance. As you develop your plan, please consider the following factors: (see photo attached, all ideas are provided by www.ready.gov)As we approach the end of the week and continue to finalize the

We've mentioned in the past that we're participating in a series of instructor-led discussions to promote leadership culture within our office. Recently, our team worked together to reimagine our mission statement.

Everyone on our team had the opportunity to help build and mold the standard to which we hold ourselves - sergeants, detention deputies, sheriff, everyone. We're proud of what our team developed. It's a succinct, achievable mission statement we'll strive to accomplish each day.

This week, the Harvey County Communications Incident Tactical Dispatch Team mobilized our communications unit and traveled to Oklahoma for the 2024 Central States Communication Exercise.

The #commex2024 is recognized as the largest Public Safety Communications Exercise in the United States, featuring 236 participants from 106 agencies across 27 states this year. Our dedicated team, consisting of Assistant Director Molly Redinger, Shift Supervisors Melissa Farlow and Josh Beighler, and TAC Officer Heather Weber, has invested significant effort in completing "task books" and gaining insights from other agencies.

Throughout the four days of training, our team has gained a substantial amount of knowledge that will greatly benefit our operations at the dispatch center. We remain committed to continuous learning and excellence in our efforts to provide the highest level of service to our 9-1-1 callers, First Responders, and community members. Congratulations to the team for their hard work and dedication!

👏 A lot of hours put in by our parks crew. Awesome work! 🎉Photos from Harvey County Parks's post ... See moreSee less

We are very happy to announce that the new Shower house/restroom facility at Harvey County West Park is now open to the public.
We really appreciate your patience while we completed this very large project. We think all of you are going to appreciate the new facility as it is a vast improvement over the old building.
I especially want to thank the Parks Department crew for the many hours they put into this project while still keeping up with all their every day responsibilities. There were many days of hot, sweaty, heavy work that had to be done by the Parks Department employees to complete this project. The electrical, plumbing, masonry work...everything was all done in house. The only thing that the Parks Department did not do on this project was the footings for the building and placing the wall slabs and roof slabs. A huge "THANK YOU" to Derrick, Jerry, Ted, Charles, and Dylan for all their hard work not only on this project but everyday. If you see these Park Rangers while you are in the parks please do me a favor and let them know they are appreciated.Photos from Harvey County Parks's post
