The Harvey County Commission established the 2024 public holiday schedule for county government facilities at its Oct. 31 meeting.
The Commission approved 10-1/2 days of holiday time for County employees in 2024. County facilities will generally be closed on those days, but emergency and essential services will remain accessible.
The county's 2024 public holidays include:
- Jan. 1: New Year's Day
- Jan. 15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Feb. 19: Presidents Day
- May 27: Memorial Day
- July 4: Independence Day
- Sept. 2: Labor Day
- Nov. 11: Veterans Day
- Nov. 28-29: Thanksgiving break
- Dec. 24: Christmas Eve (close at noon)
- Dec. 25: Christmas
Government facilities will also be closed to the public Oct. 14 as the County conducts its annual employee in-service.
