Influenza, more commonly referred to as the flu, is a respiratory illness most commonly impacting the nose, throat or lungs. While the flu can sometimes bring mild symptoms, it can be severe and even deadly. The flu season generally runs between October and March.
The Harvey County Health Department provides flu vaccinations. We encourage you to schedule an appointment for a flu vaccination for faster service. Please call us at 316-283-1637 or 1-800-414-4244. Vaccinations are offered to walk-ins during regular hours as nursing staff become available.
The flu vaccine may be covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurers. Please check with your insurance provider for more information. The Health Department can also provide vaccinations on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size.
