Harvey County requires all property in the unincorporated areas of the county with a private sewer system and domestic water well(s) to be inspected at the time it exchanges ownership. A property exchange form can be downloaded (Property Exchange Inspections) filled out and returned by fax (316) 284-6856. If the property is connected to a private water well for the drinking supply, then a water test is required. All domestic water wells are inspected whether they are used for drinking purposes or not.
Inspections can be paid by cash, check or credit card. A 2.5 percent electronic processing fee with be assessed by Kansas.gov for use of credit card.
The cost for the inspection is as follows:
- Sewer Inspection $120
- Water Well(s) Inspection $120
- Sewer & Well(s) Inspection $160
- Sewer, Well Inspections & Water Test $200.
