The development of vaccines are a monumental step toward reducing the challenges and health concerns created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized and recommended the use of three vaccines - Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson - through emergency use authorizations.

Vaccine availability remains limited. The State of Kansas establishes the prioritization and timeline for administering vaccines, as well as when and how much vaccine is available to providers.

Kansas is in Phase Two of its COVID-19 Vaccination Plan. This phase will include people 65 years old and older, congregate settings and high-contact critical workers.
