The development of vaccines is a monumental step toward reducing the challenges and health concerns created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has authorized and recommended the use of three vaccines - Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) - through emergency use authorizations.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has authorized the use of the Pfizer vaccine for individuals 12 years old and older. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for individuals 18 years old and older.
