What does the Harvey Interurban offer? The Harvey Interurban operates six buses and a minivan that are wheelchair accessible for the purpose of offering shopping, medical and recreational trips. These trips are available to ALL the residents fo Harvey County. How do I schedule a ride? To reserve your seat, simply call 284-6802 or 866-680-6802. Seats are filled on a first-call, first-serve basis. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The Interurban office is located in the Harvey County Courthouse. Why should I ride the Harvey Interurban? Cost - The cost of owning and operating a vehicle continues to skyrocket. Using the Interurban is a safe, convenient, low-cost alternative. Safety - Some people do not feel cmfortable driving in Wichita, Hutchinson or Newton. Our drivers have many years of CDL driving experience, so let us handle the big city traffic! Fun - Several trips a month focus on getting out of town and enjoying sites around Kansas. These trips often include restaurants, zoos, museums, historical sites and other attractions. Recommendations from passengers are encouraged. Convenience - The Interurban strives to meet each passenger's needs. In some cases we are able to pick passengers up at their front door. Medical Trips The Harvey Interurban offers medical transportation Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Trips are filled on a first- call, first-serve basis and reservations can be made up to one year in advance with the exception of on-going repeat trips. Trips can be taken to Wichita, Hutchinson, or any destination in the surrounding area. The suggested round-trip donation is $6 within Newton*, $10 within Harvey County, and $18 outside Harvey County. The van is equipped with a wheelchair ramp. *Wheelchair patients only for Newton-to-Newton trips, escorts ride free. Back to Top
