Meet the Support Staff!

Margaret Goering started working at the health department in 2002. She is a Child Care Licensing Surveyor, Healthy Start Home Visitor, and the Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. She also speaks Spanish fluently and assists in translation at the health department. She received her Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from Kansas State University.

Valorie Goerend has worked at the health department since July of 2002. She is employed as a Healthy Start Home Visitor, a Child Care Licensing Surveyor and is the Social Worker for the Maternal Child and Infant Program. She is a Licensed Social Worker (LASW) and received her BA from Marymount College.

Julie Kanady began employment at the health department in October of 2002. She is the Women's Healthcare Nurse Practitioner in the Family Planning Program. She is a Registered Nurse Certified as a Nurse Practitioner (RNC, ARNP). Julie received her RN from Bethel College and her ARNP at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas.

Alice Jantzen started working at the health department in 2001. She is a Registered Nurse on the WIC staff and acts as the Breastfeeding Coordinator for the WIC program. She has an Associate of Arts degree from Hesston College and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bethel College. She is fluent in both Spanish and German.

Paula Wedel has worked at the health department since November of 2006. She fills the WIC Dietitian position and the Special Projects Coordinator. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from Kansas State University and completed her dietetic internship at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
