  • Lead screening—Lead is a highly toxic substance which can cause a wide range of health problems. Both adults and children can suffer from the effects of lead poisoning, but childhood lead poisoning is much more frequent. Over the many years since we have known about the hazards of lead, tens of millions of children have suffered its health effects. Even today there are still at minimum more than four hundred thousand children under the age of six who have too much lead in their blood.
    • Click here to take a quiz to find out if your kids need to have a lead screening test.

  • Blood Pressure Checks
    • Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood to the walls of the blood vessels. Unless indicated otherwise, blood pressure refers to the pressure in the large arteries delivering blood to body parts other than the lungs. Blood pressure values are universally stated in millimeters of mercury (mmHg).
    • Typical values for a resting, healthy adult human are approximately 120 mmHg systolic and 80 mmHg diastolic (written as 120/80 mmHg, and spoken as "one twenty over eighty"), with large individual variations. These measures of blood pressure are not static, but undergo natural variations from one heartbeat to another or throughout the day (in a circadian rhythm); they also change in response to stress, nutritional factors, drugs, or disease.
