Neighborhood Distribution Centers
A public health emergency is any event that puts at risk the health of a community and
its people. It can be caused by a natural disaster, like a flood; an accident, like a chemical spill; a disease outbreak, like SARS; or a terrorist attack.
If a public health emergency occurs in Harvey County, you will be instructed, through the
media, to go to a Neighborhood Distribution Center. A Neighborhood Distribution Center is a community building that is used to
distribute medication to the public. This is the symbol for a Neighborhood Distribution Center:

- King Park Shelter House - Hesston
- Newton High School - Newton
- Grace Community Church - Newton
- Thresher Gymnasium - Bethel College, North Newton
- Sedgwick Elementary School - Sedgwick
Please have the following information with you when you go to your Neighborhood Distribution
Center:
- Names of all household members
- Your address and phone number
- Weights of all persons under 90 pounds
- Medication allergies of all persons
- Knowledge of other conditions, including
- Liver
- Epilepsy
- Kidney
- Pregnant
- Breastfeeding
