Turkey Hunting:
October 1st through November 29th, 2011
December 12th through 31st, 2011
January 9th through 31st, 2012
Wednesday through Sunday half hour before sunrise until Noon.
Shotgun and Bow hunting will both be allowed
Duck/Goose Hunting:
Duck:
*October 29th, 2011 through January 1st, 2012
*January 21st through January 29th, 2012
Goose:
*October 29th through November 6th, 2011
*November 9th, 2011 through February 12th, 2012
Harvey County East Lake 2011/2012 Hunting Season
SALE OF PERMITS IS FINAL. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN – NO EXCEPTIONS.
Turkey hunting:
Turkey hunting special permits will be obtained at the Harvey County Court House in the Administration Office Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm only. They will be sold on a “first come, first served” basis no more than 7 (seven) days prior to the desired hunting day(s), but at least 3 (three) days before the desired hunting day(s). The Park will be open to fall turkey hunting Five days a week during the regular state season. A maximum of four hunters per party may hunt Wednesday through Sunday one half hour before sunrise until noon. The hunting area will be marked with signs. The cost to hunt will be $8.00 per hunter (maximum of 4 hunters), per day. The price will be the same for everyone regardless of residency. Youth hunters, under the age of 16, can hunt free of charge but will be required to be accompanied by a licensed hunter 25 yrs. old or older. Youth hunters that are 17 yrs. old will be required to be accompanied by a licensed hunter 25 yrs. old or older but will not be discounted. All Youth Hunters 17 yrs. old and younger are required to have a Hunters Safety Certificate to hunt on Harvey County East Lake Property. All Kansas State hunting rules and regulations will be enforced.
Duck and Goose hunting:
Duck and Goose hunting will be confined to one blind located North of Catfish point on the far East side of the lake. Hunting outside of the blind will not be allowed. Pursuing of crippled waterfowl will be limited to the waterfowl hunting area only. If a crippled bird gets outside the waterfowl hunting area it is lost. Waterfowl hunters may retrieve downed birds with their boat within the designated waterfowl hunting area in accordance with Kansas State Waterfowl Hunting Rules and Regulations. A Harvey County Parks and Recreation Boat permit will not be required for waterfowl hunter boats. The East Lake waterfowl season will be the same as the regular state waterfowl season. A floating sign will be place in the waterway midway between shorelines bordering the waterfowl hunting area and at the entrance of the special permit hunting area. The cost to hunt will be $32.00 per party (maximum of 4 hunters), per day. The price will be the same for everyone regardless of residency. Parties with youth hunters, under the age of 16, will be required to be accompanied by a licensed hunter 25 yrs. old or older and will be discounted by $8.00 per youth hunter. Youth hunters that are 17 yrs. old will be required to be accompanied by a licensed hunter 25 yrs. old or older but will not be discounted. All Youth Hunters 17 yrs. old and younger are required to have a Hunters Safety Certificate to hunt on Harvey County East Lake Property. All Kansas State hunting rules and regulations will be enforced.
The special hunting permits will be purchased at the Harvey County Court House Administration Office, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm only. They can be purchased no more than 7 (seven) days prior to the desired hunting days, But at least 3 (three) days before desired dates.
The sale of special hunting permits is final. No refunds will be issued. No exceptions. Maps of the hunting areas and the Kansas State Hunting Rules and Regulations will be available at the Court House at the time of purchase. All Kansas State hunting rules and regulations will be enforced.
Please check the status of Blue Green algae alert before allowing hunting dogs into the water at Harvey County East Lake. Blue Green algae is toxic to animals and may result in death.
